Featuring special guest speaker
“A Landscape Architecture Rooted in Horticulture”
Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
564 Park Avenue, New York City

We are delighted to welcome Belgium-based landscape architect Peter Wirtz, CEO of Wirtz International, who will be speaking about the importance of horticultural knowledge in garden design. His day-to-day connection with plants and soil is a key source of inspiration and knowledge. According to Madison Cox’s much-lauded book, The Gardener’s Garden, “Wirtz’s use of clipped hedges to define spaces and focus views recalls great landscape designers such as André LeNôtre. It has become widely recognized as his trademark and is made more contemporary by being combined with perfectly proportioned mown lawns, reflective pools, gravel paths and borders full of massed plantings. Wirtz gardens are constant: they work as well in winter months as they do in summer.”

A cocktail reception will follow in the third-floor loggia.

Advance reservations are required.

Tickets $125 for Madoo members
