New York Times garden columnist Anne Raver draws on her 25 year career to paint a picture of how "soft solutions" can not only protect the built environment but also improve a variety of habitats. Bringing it closer to home she'll explain how green practices on the smaller homeowner scale can improve our local environment.

Internationally known photographer Mick Hales explores how our eye reacts to different spaces. Drawing on his own archives of gardens from around the world he will examine what attracts us in gardens. Photographs from a recent sojourn in England will also be included.
